Reddit Comments Scraper is a Chrome extension published by Neatrat. This policy explains what the extension does with your data. It works alongside, and does not replace, FetchLayer's Privacy Policy, since the extension sends its requests through the FetchLayer API to fetch Reddit data.

What the extension does

You give the extension a Reddit thread URL (either by pasting one in, or by letting it auto-fill from the Reddit tab you're viewing). The extension sends that URL to the FetchLayer API, which fetches the thread's public comments and returns them. The extension then displays that data and lets you export it as CSV or JSON.

What data we collect

We do not collect, store, or log any of your data. We do not know what queries you make, what thread URLs you submit, or what results are returned. We do not cache any responses. The only thing we can see is that you used the Reddit API — and only for aggregate statistics and billing purposes. We have no visibility into individual requests or their content.

The only data that touches your browser is kept locally — your scrape history and settings are stored in your browser's own local storage so past exports can be reopened. This data never leaves your device.

Your FetchLayer account (email and usage/credits) is covered by FetchLayer's Privacy Policy.

  • tabs — to detect when you're on a Reddit thread and auto-fill its URL.
  • sidePanel — to run the extension as a Chrome side panel.
  • downloads — to save your CSV/JSON exports to your computer.
  • Host access to fetchlayer.dev — to send scrape requests to the FetchLayer API and connect to your FetchLayer account.

Data sharing

Since we don't collect or store your data in the first place, there is nothing to share, sell, or transfer to third parties. See FetchLayer's Privacy Policy for how FetchLayer itself handles API traffic.

Your exports

CSV/JSON files you export are saved directly to your computer via Chrome's downloads permission. We don't retain a copy of them ourselves.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect once posted on this page, with the "Last updated" date revised accordingly.
